STRATEGIC ADVOCACY &
PUBLIC POLICY RESEARCH

We conduct research and analyze fundamental social problems in order to provide policy makers with pragmatic, action-oriented recommendations for alleviating such problems. Our aim is to help governments, NGOs, Civil Society and other policy makers understand how policies, and regulations may influence people’s welfare. We translate research into evidence-based policies as an important approach to improve population health and address health disparities.
Our Policy research process provides an opportunity to respond to various questions and apply various methodologies ranging from public health, law, and other services, to policy implementation and dissemination. We apply both qualitative and quantitative research methods at every stage of policy research process. We conduct policy impact evaluation where we examine, policy implementation studies, and help our clients in the entire policy formulation cycle.
Our public policy advocacy department engages in lobbying and strategic campaigning for sound and plausible public policies, carries out legislative drafting, help in developing strong, persuasive arguments. It helps to define and identify clear objectives, and carry out strategic advocacy through dialogue and public debates.  

GLOBAL GOVERNANCE 

ARF aims at building outstanding and high-level engagements with global scholars, engage with the world through policy dialogue and contribute to fostering a future generation of policy makers. Our focus is on the forms and dynamics of global governance, Global Economics focusing on the need for multilateral economic cooperation and global governance of national economic policies for sustainable development. We further focus on the challenges confronting the global trade order, Regulation, standards and market integration, analyzing the role of agreements and treaties, services and sustainable development.  

REFUGEES AND MIGRATION

ARF carries out multidisciplinary, policy relevant research on the causes and consequences of forced migration, with an emphasis on understanding the experience of forced migration from the point of view of the affected people. The facility undertakes a refugee economic program on the lives of refugees. Through primary data collection, it explores the conditions under which refugees can become self-sufficient and make positive contributions to their host states and societies. The program is interdisciplinary, combining economics, anthropology, history and political science. The facility help in addressing issues concerning refugee status determination, offers training to refugees on housing, land and property, refugee status determination, legal identity and labor laws and procedures.

ENVIRONMENT

ARF is at the forefront of environmental research, our experts are drawn from a wide range of disciplines which enables us produce globally recognized policy relevant research and analysis. Our focus is on Biodiversity, climate change adaptation and resilience, climate change governance, legislation and litigation, climate health and environment, environmental behavior, environmental policy evaluation, international climate politics, sustainable natural resources, sustainable public and private finance, and transition to zero emissions growth among others.

JUSTICE RESEARCH AND POLICY

We study strategies designed to prevent and respond to crime, victimization, and support adoption of effective, efficient, and fair solutions that promote justice, safety and well-being. Our work examines the operations and impact of organizations in the public and private sector that include victim service providers, first responders, law enforcement, forensic laboratories, courts, corrections, and community-based organizations focused on justice and resilience.
ARF experts conduct research, evaluation, quality assurance, training and technical assistance designed to translate evidence into actionable strategies for communities and policy systems.   

MONITORING AND EVALUATION

The facility applies results focused monitoring, evaluation, and research to inform continuous learning, and adaptation for improved program effectiveness, impact, and evidence-based policy decisions.
Our strategy go beyond program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) by filling gaps in evidence through quantitative and qualitative research. By incorporating collaborating, learning, and adapting best practices into M&E and research, we ensure that progress toward program objectives is guided by continuous learning and iterative adaptation. ARF applies monitoring and evaluation in international development and research programs in various regions cutting across various technical sectors including agriculture, economic development, education, energy, food security, governance, health, natural resource management and resilience. 

INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our work in International Development focuses on improving the human condition through multi-sectoral, inclusive solutions that lead to sustainable economic growth, climate resilience, improved food security, quality education and healthcare, environmental protection, and prosperity. ARF is both a leading research institute and an independent development organization. Our international experts help to assess the state of knowledge, conduct independent research to generate new insights and apply evidence to advance effective approaches.

YOUTH AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY

We empower people to thrive in the global economy. Our comprehensive, evidence based economic and workforce development programs help to create employment opportunities for women, youth, and disadvantaged populations in developing countries. We build local capacity to design and implement systems that align education and training systems with employer needs.
We work closely with clients and partners to design programs, conduct collaborative research, pilot and develop new methodologies, and implement and scale project activities. Our team applies a deep understanding of labor markets to deliver innovative technical assistance, consulting, and research tools that connect young people and employers in mutually beneficial ways.
